Table Top and Phelps Mountain Trip Report.

Started at the Adirondack Loj on a partly cloudy Saturday morning. Temperature had cooled down and the early cloud cover kept the day cool so I was able to hike without bug spray. Remembered the trail up to Indian Falls like it was an old friend. I was checking out some compass bearings on my map and was updated by another hiker about using the new route to Table Top. This trail started from a cairn marked ski trail that I had passed just before arriving at the falls. This was a good route to follow although rougher than the trail up fron the Loj. I suspect that this is the first route mentioned in the guide book with some work done to remove the blow downs, I removed a few more on my way up. No views from the summit but had a couple on the way up, the day had cleared up nicely.

Had awesome views from the Phelps summit. Best visibility I have ever had in the Adirondacks. Missed closing time on the Whiteface auto road. They had visibility at 55 miles.
